\nannounced a series of ESG
\n(Environmental, Social, and Governance) <\/b>efforts <\/b>today during its Q4’21 Career Advancement Day, themed “ESG by
\nERA”. The company will focus on three
\npriority areas<\/b> \u2013 creating a green and sustainable living environment for
\nSingaporeans, employee well-being, and development of evolutionary solutions. <\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\nSUPPORTING GRASSROOTS ORGANISATION TO ACCELERATE SINGAPORE GREEN
\nPLAN 2030<\/b><\/p>\nThe kickstart of ESG efforts had
\nbeen made memorable, thanks to 21 esteemed patrons comprising ERA senior
\nmanagement and trusted advisers, who each donated S$11,000, totalling to a sum
\nof S$231,000 that will be donated to Hong Kah North Environmental
\nSustainability Fund. This fund will be used to help the grassroots organisation
\ndevelop green and sustainable living environment for its residents. <\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
The donation funds will
\nsupport\u00a0two of the five key pillars<\/b>\u00a0under
\nthe Singapore Green Plan 2030 \u2014 City in\u00a0Nature and Sustainable Living, and
\nis expected to benefit over 42,000 Tengah Town’s households and other parts of
\nHong Kah North. These include:<\/p>\n- \n
- The building of a
\ncommunity garden<\/b> on the top deck of a multi-storey carpark at Bukit Batok
\nWest Avenue 8, opposite the new Tengah Town. This will increase green cover as
\nwell as enhance livability and connections among residents. <\/li>\n- Setting up an Eco Hub in
\nTengah Town<\/b> to widen environment education and encourage sustainable living
\npractices such as Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R) and community gardening. This
\nincludes organising eco-workshops to promote upcycling and green living among
\nresidents, as well as eco-activities with community partners such as schools
\nand volunteer welfare organisations to showcase residents’ eco-projects.<\/li>\n- To foster a spirit of inclusivity and collaboration, the
\ndonations will be used to organise
\neco-activities with community partners<\/b>, such as schools and volunteer
\nwelfare organisations, and showcase residents’ eco-projects. The funds will
\nalso provide education grants and assistance to students and residents from
\nvulnerable families. These programmes aim to encourage residents to adopt green
\nhabits and nurture a community of green champions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
Speaking at the virtual
\nconference, Dr. Amy Khor<\/b>, Senior
\nMinister of State for Sustainability and the Environment commended ERA for
\nembracing sustainability and empowering its network of more than 8,300 trusted
\nadvisers and staff in promoting green practices and providing volunteerism and
\nfundraising avenues in support of the Green Plan.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In a bid to propel ERA’s ESG
\nefforts, the ESG by ERA committee will be chaired by Ms Doris Ong, who is the
\nnewly appointed Deputy CEO of ERA Singapore. “We’re proud to lead these efforts
\nand promote the adoption of ESG practices among our staff, trusted advisers,
\nclients and corporate partners in their daily life and decision-making
\nprocess,” said Ms Ong. “ERA’s contribution towards the Hong Kah North
\nSustainability Fund is a good start, and we will strive to become a green
\ncorporate citizen in other areas such as tackling the distribution of bottled
\nwater at property launches, incorporating and promoting green practices inside
\nand outside the company. We have more initiatives in the pipeline and will
\ncontinue to harmonise ESG frameworks into our business strategy and day-to-day
\noperations.”<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n
As the only real estate agency in
\nSingapore to own its building, ERA is also taking the lead in maintaining high green standards within ERA
\nAPAC Centre<\/b>, as well as raising awareness among its clients and the
\nindustry on this pillar. Since moving its headquarters to ERA APAC Centre last
\nyear, ERA has installed energy-efficient
\nappliances and lights<\/b> during the renovation phase to ensure an
\nenvironmental friendly workspace. The building is currently in the midst of
\napproval for the BCA Green Mark certification scheme. ERA will continue to
\nmaintain and uphold its energy saving standards in all offices and will monitor
\nand analyse its energy consumption patterns with the aim to lower the energy intensity ratio and
\ngreenhouse gas emissions<\/b>.<\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
The company has also made a
\nsignificant progress in reducing its
\ncarbon footprint<\/b> through the adoption of paperless submission of documents
\nvia e-Form, creation of personalised digital materials such as e-books, flyers,
\nmailers and website for marketing purposes, as well as reduced usage of
\ncheques. <\/p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n
PROMOTE ECONOMIC, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELL-BEING OF ERA’S
\nTRUSTED ADVISERS <\/b><\/p>\nEmployee well-being has become a
\nkey issue for the ‘Social’ pillar under ESG, especially with the increased
\nstress levels during the Covid-19 pandemic. Firmly entrenched in its sharing
\nand caring culture, ERA’s network of trusted advisers are encouraged to support

ERA has been making changes to
\nfurther improve the economic, physical and mental well-being of their trusted

\n Ms Doris Ong<\/b> is breaking glass
\n ceilings as the new Deputy CEO <\/b>of
\n ERA. She spearheads an integral division, Project Marketing, which secured
\n ERA as Singapore’s first real estate agency to clinch projects from
\n conglomerate developers. She leads a team that has planned
\n and\u00a0executed\u00a0marketing launches for over 200 international and
