\nCorporate Laboratory on 5 November 2021<\/p>\n
\nfor Trade and Industry Mr Gan Kim Yong graced the launch ceremony, which was
\nheld at NUS earlier today, as the Guest-of-Honour. <\/p>\n
\nRidge campus, the Corporate Lab will bring together talent from NUS and Cisco
\nto focus on five strategic research areas, with the aim to boost Singapore’s
\nknowledge-based innovation-driven digital economy. The focus areas are:<\/p>\n\n
\nIntelligence (AI):<\/b>
\nExploring usage of technologies like machine learning to transform and scale
\ncustomer service operations of large businesses<\/li>\n
\nan enabling network and intelligent infrastructure for healthcare in hospitals
\nand at home<\/li>\n
\nCritical Information Infrastructure through research into advanced,
\nnetwork-centric cyber threat detection<\/li>\n
\nInfrastructure:<\/b>
\nDeveloping architectures and solutions to support design and operation of urban
\ninfrastructure and smart industries<\/li>\n
\nWorkforce and Productivity:<\/b> Driving productivity by understanding who needs to
\nlearn, how they learn, and how to generate skills and competencies needed for a
\nfuture-ready workforce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\nthe Corporate Lab will undertake. <\/p>\n
\nkey not just in relation to successful digital transformation of businesses but
\nalso to efforts of governments across the world as they look to digital
\nadoption to improve citizen services. This is especially critical right now as
\ncompanies and countries prepare for a post-pandemic future where digital-first
\ninteractions, a hybrid workforce, and smart urban infrastructure are likely to
\nbecome ubiquitous. The success of all these trends will be underpinned by
\ncybersecurity and the ability of businesses and governments to keep critical
\ninformation infrastructure safe from malicious actors. <\/p>\n

\nindustry-research ties, and pave the way for more industry-research

\nVice President, Chief Strategy Officer, and GM, Applications at Cisco, added,

\nto leverage the advancements in technology to solve key issues, opening up new

\nCo-Innovation Center, and Associate Professor Biplab Sikdar who is a faculty
\nmember of the NUS Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, as
\nCo-Directors. <\/p>\n
\nresearchers, analysts, engineers and students to work on 15 research projects. It
\nwill also provide scholarships for doctoral students who will work on projects
\nassociated with the Corporate Lab. <\/p>\n
\nnew technology solutions, 12 improved products and services in areas such as
\nAI, healthcare, supply chain, urban infrastructure and cybersecurity, and also benefit\/partner
\nat least 100 Singapore-based companies to use and refine the developed
