\ntoday announced the deployment of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) from Geek+<\/a>, a global technology company specialized in
\nsmart logistics through advanced robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), at
\nits Yuen Long Warehouse Distribution Centre (YLDC) in Hong Kong, SAR China. The
\nYLDC will be provided with an exclusive AMR operating area with QR coding to
\nguide automated operations.\u00a0 The smart facility underlines GEODIS’

\ninvestment in Autonomous Mobile Robots for its distribution centre in Hong
\nKong, SAR China<\/i><\/p>\n

\nThese solutions not only bring long-term cost-savings, operational

\nstandards while providing customers greater speed and flexibility of movement

\ninitial project AMR deployment features customized storage racks and shelves
\nthat do not require aisles in between while parked. This high-density storage
\nbuffer allows GEODIS to maximize its storage capacity for improved customer
\nfulfillment processes. Furthermore, the Geek+ robots will be used for locating,
\ntracking, and moving inventory through “Goods-to-Person Picking” solutions.
\nThis method allows orders to be delivered directly to pick and pack stations,
\neliminating any movement time needed by operators to search for items. <\/p>\n
\naddition to improved real estate utilization, AMR adoption minimizes manual
\nlabor and reduces the risk of human error\u2014improving picking accuracy and
\nreducing inventory count errors. The use of AMR will also mitigate some of the
\nchallenges brought on by COVID-19, such as social distancing protocols in
\nwarehouses. <\/p>\n
