\ncompany, is organising the first in Asia, Infrastructure Design Competition in
\ncollaboration with the University Community Transformation Centre under
\nUniversiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (‘UCTC-UKM’). The competition is open to Year 3,
\nYear 4, and postgraduate Engineering students who are currently studying in
\nuniversities based in Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the
\nPhilippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan,

\nCompetition in Asia, in collaboration with the University Community
\nTransformation Centre under Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (‘UCTC-UKM’).<\/b><\/p>\n
\ncompetition is edotco’s annual commitment to provide today’s aspiring youths
\nwith a platform to engage with experienced leaders, gain industry knowledge and
\nattain technology exposure while applying their skills to create innovative
\nsolutions. The competition was piloted in Bangladesh last year to nurture
\ntalents within the student community in the country and successfully garnered a
\ntotal of 28 contestants from 7 teams.<\/p>\n
\norganising and leading the university-student engagement initiatives. Both
\nparties will join hands in the industry-academia mentorship sessions to coach
\nand mentor participants throughout the competition process to ensure the
\noutcomes align with the judging expectations. <\/p>\n
\nOfficer of edotco Group said, “As a regional towerco, we acknowledge the
\nimportance of nurturing innovation and cultivating the importance of
\nsustainability amongst the youth. Through this competition, we aim to spearhead
\ninnovation while upskilling youths across Asia. It is a part of edotco’s
\nongoing efforts on fostering a future-ready workforce that is capable of
\nbuilding next-generation technologies for the telecommunications
\nindustry.”<\/p>\n
\ncompetition brings together innovation, cost efficiency, feasibility &
\nfunctionality, and environment-friendly solutions. Education institutions play
\nan important role in shaping future telecommunication talents, and we are
\ndelighted to work with UKM on creating this platform for skills development. We
\nlook forward to involving these university students in our efforts of
\ndeveloping a sustainable and efficient future, and we are excited to see the
\ncreative ideas that are about to come,” he added.<\/p>\n
\naccepted at the competition. To participate, students must form teams of 2 to 4
\nparticipants consisting of at least 1 student from the Civil Engineering major.
\nUpon successful registration, teams will be required to design a tower and
\nfoundation that fits the next generation of telecommunication infrastructure
\ncriteria based on the given Technical Framework. Over a period of 65 days,
\nedotco and Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment of UKM will conduct
\nmentorship sessions to coach participants on their projects and proposals. <\/p>\n
\nfor a presentation to the panel of judges, consisting of experts from edotco, the
\nindustry, and academicians from UKM, at the virtual Grand Finale that will take
\nplace in March 2022. A total of 3 winners with innovative ideas will win cash
\nprizes totalling up to USD 5,000.<\/p>\n
