Dr. Saroj Kumar Swain, Director, ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar graced the occasion as a Chief guest and appreciated the efforts of KVK-Khordha for organising the event. He highlighted about the food security, various agricultural schemes implemented by the Government of India for eradicating hunger &amp; malnutrition, application of modern technologies in agriculture to enhance the production and productivity of agricultural crops and promotion of various agri-entrepreneurial activities for sustainable livelihood and food and nutritional security. Garnayak, Former Dean Extension Education, OUAT, Bhubaneswar enlightened the participants about food safety &amp; adoption of Integrated Farming System for achieving food and nutrition security. Earlier, Mr. A.K. Dash, Senior Scientist &amp; Head (I\/C), KVK, Khordha welcomed the dignitaries and participants and briefed about the organic vegetable production for good health. Dr. P. Routray, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar enlighten the participants about the aim &amp; theme of the World Food Day celebration. He also delivered a lecture about Monosex Tilapia: Emerging candidate species for food security. Shri Kedareswar Choudhuri, Secretary, Darbar Sahitya Sanshad (DSS), Khordha briefed about the various activities promoted by DSS for women empowerment &amp; food security. He also focused on promotion of organic farming. Dr.Harapriya Nayak, Subject Matter Specialist (Home Science) briefed about Nutritional kitchen garden and importance of fish &amp; vegetable for food security. Eleven progressive farmers from Balianta, Balipatna and Jatni Block of Khordha district were felicitated on this auspicious day for their outstanding contribution in agriculture &amp; allied sector for achieving food security. A total of 62 officials from KVK, Khordha, ICAR-CIFA &amp; progressive farmers from Khordha district participated in the programme. The programme was coordinated by Mr. A.K.
