(TPNODL), Keonjhar,<strong> simultaneous house searches<\/strong> were conducted at 5 places in Keonjhar district on 21.09.2021 by 5 teams of Balasore Vigilance Division comprising 2 DSsP, 6 Inspectors and other staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon\u2019ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Keonjhar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2 nos. of double storeyed buildings in Keonjhar district, 4 plots including 3 plots in Keonjhar town and 1 plot at Ghatagaon, Keonjhar, 3 nos. of two wheelers, Bank deposits over Rs.24.63 Lakh, Insurance deposits over Rs.24 Lakh and other movable and immovable properties, all totalling to over Rs 2.57 Crore <\/strong>were unearthed during the house search.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Maheswar Sethy, SDO were calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of\u00a0<strong>Rs.<\/strong><strong>2,13,22,084<\/strong><strong>\/- (Rupees Two Crore Thirteen Lakh Twenty-two Thousand Eighty-four) <\/strong><strong>which constitutes 260%<\/strong> <strong>of his <\/strong><strong>known sources of income<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As\u00a0Sri Maheswar Sethy, SDO, Meter Relay Testing (MRT), Electrical, Tata Power Northern Odisha Distribution Ltd. (TPNODL), Keonjhar was\u00a0found in possession of disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily, Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.17 dt.22.09.2021 was registered against Sri Maheswar Sethy, SDO and his spouse U\/s 13(2) r\/w 13(1)(b)\/12 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act-2018.\u00a0In course of investigation, today i.e. on 22.09.2021, Sri Maheswar Sethy, SDO has been arrested and forwarded to the Court\u00a0of Special Judge, Vigilance, Keonjhar.
