\n17 September 2021 – Proparco,\u00a0the French
\nDevelopment Finance Institution, has\u00a0granted a US$50 million loan
\nto HDBank<\/a> to finance green projects and promote sustainable development in Vietnam.<\/p>\n
\nmarks the first collaboration between Proparco and HDBank.<\/p>\n
\npioneer in green lending, HDBank has in past years helped foster Vi\u1ec7t Nam’s
\neconomic development while\u00a0minimising the impacts on the environment.<\/p>\n
\nloan will help the bank get closer to international standards in green credit.<\/p>\n
\nprojects funded by HDBank satisfy green criteria such as reducing energy
\nconsumption, reducing CO2 emissions, reducing pollution, and targeting
\nsustainable growth.<\/p>\n
\nprojects promise to create more than 1,350 direct and indirect jobs over the
\ncoming years.<\/p>\n
\nwill contribute to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n

\non their common views on sustainable development, creating long-term values for
\nthe economy and community and society, the two sides promised to have more
\nstrategic cooperation in future.<\/p>\n
\n2018 HDBank has been financing green projects to support high-tech agriculture
\nand renewable energy.<\/p>\n
\nof August 31 this year its outstanding loans to green projects were worth
\nnearly VND13.5 trillion (US$593.2 million).<\/p>\n
\nits green credit programme, HDBank not only provides customers with the best
\nfinancial solutions but also targets sustainable values, promotes renewable
\nenergy, ensures the national energy security, supports hi-tech agriculture, and
\ncontributes to environmental protection.<\/p>\n
\nwas the first member of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to receive the Green
\nDeal Award, a recognition for its notable achievements in green finance while
\nparticipating in the ADB Trade Finance Programme.<\/p>\n
\nwas also voted by readers of Vietnam Economic Times as the Best Bank for Green
\nCredit Financing in 2019. <\/p>\n
