\nAsia’s leading property technology (“PropTech”) company, today announced the launch of ‘PropertyGuru Green Score<\/a>‘ (‘Green Score’), a sustainability rating attributed to condominiums
\nand HDBs listed on Propertyguru.com.sg<\/a>. Green Score empowers property seekers in
\nSingapore to learn how eco-friendly their present or new home is, and to support environment-friendly lifestyles. The Green
\nScore of a project is based on the proximity to public transport (within 400m),
\ngreen building rating assessment
\nsuch as
\nBCA Green Mark certification<\/a>, and
\nsustainability awards won from ‘PropertyGuru\u00a0Asia
\nProperty Awards<\/a>‘, Asia’s
\nbiggest property awards program, with additional relevant criteria to be added
\nin the future. The score
\nranges from 1-5, denoting average, good and excellent sustainability rating of

\nthe increasing demand among property seekers to make sustainable life choices,
\nespecially around choosing their future home. PropertyGuru’s latest H2 2021 Consumer Sentiment Study<\/a> found that 82% of
\nSingaporeans are willing to consider paying more for an environmentally
\nsustainable home, with their top three sustainability features comprising smart
\ncooling systems, high-insulation windows and doors, and solar panels. This willingness
\ndemonstrates more ecological
\nand socially conscious behaviour across generations, from
\n(86%). Markedly, 81%
\nof Singaporeans voiced the need to preserve forested areas from urban
\ndevelopment, despite the city state’s limited land space. <\/p>\n

\nleader, we felt it was our responsibility to enable and drive this change in
\nsustainable urban living. Since last year, we have ramped up our programs, tech
\ncapabilities, talent, and partnerships to promote sustainable urban living and
\ninfluence positive changes in our community. Green Score practically enables
\nSingaporeans to prioritise ‘sustainability’ as a consideration in their
\nproperty decisions. Since its soft launch in February 2021, nearly 2 million
\nproperty seekers have viewed the Green Score.<\/p>\n

\nthe goals stated in the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and to building a better home
\nfor our future generations. In time, we hope that sustainable living will be a
\nnatural way of life, and each of us will place environmental considerations
\ntop-of-mind.”<\/p>\n

\nsustainability and to fight climate change, PropertyGuru has undertaken several
\ninitiatives:<\/p>\n\n
\nover 100 green living guides to help increase the awareness of sustainable living practices among over 37 million property seekers that
\nvisit PropertyGuru’s leading marketplaces in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia,
\nand Vietnam. <\/li>\n
\nprojects at its ‘PropertyGuru
\nAsia Property Awards<\/a>‘ for property developers in Southeast Asia and key
\nmarkets in South Asia, East Asia, and Australia. Since the launch of the Green
\nand Sustainable Development categories in 2014 and 2016, respectively,
\nPropertyGuru has seen an increase of 50% in entries of green or sustainable
\nprojects. In addition, the Asia Property Awards programme’s annual proptech and
\nthought leadership platform ‘PropertyGuru Asia Real Estate
\nSummit<\/a>‘ established the Tech Innovation Award in 2018 to
\nrecognise green tech or sustainable initiatives of startups\u00a0in the region.<\/span><\/li>\n
\n‘GreenGuru’ internal program for its over 1,700 employees in Southeast Asia. GreenGuru
\ninitiatives include \u2013 educational programs (Green Hour) for
\nsustainable living, the addition of e-waste, recycling bins and replacing
\nsingle-use plastics with reusable food containers in offices, and a Green
\nTravel Policy for the Group. PropertyGuru also hosts regular fun green
\nchallenges to encourage employees to switch to a vegetarian lunch, use public
\ntransport, and avoid plastic bottles for a month to reduce individual carbon
\nemissions.<\/li>\n
\nyear, PropertyGuru is working on a Greenhouse Gas Emission Audit &
\nReduction Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
