The ceremony was officiated&#13;<br \/>\nby Mr. Jack Chan, Acting Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr. James Law, Founder&#13;<br \/>\nof Cybertecture Architects and designer of Tsuen Wan Water Pipe Homes. The event also featured&#13;<br \/>\nthe thematic dialogue between Mr. James Law and Ms.&#13;<br \/>\nCora Chu, CEO of Dialogue in the Dark (HK) Foundation on how to address the&#13;<br \/>\nchallenges posed by COVID-19 and solution adapted by different sectors. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Mrs.&#13;<br \/>\nRebecca Choy Yung, Chair of Social Enterprise Summit Organizing Committee remarked, &#8220;The &#8216;Sustainable development&#8217; concept alone is not sufficient&#13;<br \/>\nto solve such global crisis&#13;<br \/>\nas climate change, therefore the&#13;<br \/>\nidea of &#8216; A Regenerative future&#8217;, that shifts the paradigm of pursuing market growth&#13;<br \/>\nto ecological prosperity and focuses on the wellbeing of the planet Earth and the&#13;<br \/>\nsociety. We shall continue our commitment to social innovation by focusing on dialogues&#13;<br \/>\nabout international connectivity and resources integration to explore the&#13;<br \/>\npotential among different kinds of social innovation design.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Mr. Jack&#13;<br \/>\nChan, Acting Secretary for Home Affairs&#13;<br \/>\nand the Officiating Guest of the Launch Ceremony, stated, &#8220;The Bureau is committed&#13;<br \/>\nto supporting proactively development of social enterprises and deepen the public&#8217;s&#13;<br \/>\nunderstanding on social enterprises through various channels from different&#13;<br \/>\nperspectives. We are looking forward to seeing representatives from multiple&#13;<br \/>\nsectors exchanging ideas and sharing experiences at the Social Enterprise&#13;<br \/>\nSummit, so as to promote social harmony.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>At the&#13;<br \/>\nthematic dialogue about &#8220;Building Blocks of a Regenerative Future&#8221;, Mr. James&#13;<br \/>\nLaw, and Ms. Cora Chu, shared their journeys of running their business under&#13;<br \/>\nthe challenge of the pandemic as well as the experience of collaborating with the&#13;<br \/>\nbusiness community. The speakers also shared how to bring global market&#13;<br \/>\nexperience and local creativities together when introducing foreign social&#13;<br \/>\nenterprise brands to Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>The&#13;<br \/>\nbrand new &#8220;Fund Dating&#8221; session took place after the launch ceremony. SES 2021 connects speakers&#13;<br \/>\nfrom various sectors, including social entrepreneurs, policy makers, young&#13;<br \/>\ngenerations and business of International Symposium.
