In addition to the coverage of traditional domestic helper insurance&#13;<br \/>\nplans, Zurich Hong Kong has expanded the scope of support, to include&#13;<br \/>\nprotections such as replacement expenses caused by specific events, plus the&#13;<br \/>\noutpatient expenses and hospitalization fees due to a domestic helper&#8217;s&#13;<br \/>\ndiagnosis of cancer or heart disease<sup>1<\/sup>. Under one plan, domestic&#13;<br \/>\nhelpers will also enjoy both network and non-network outpatient medical&#13;<br \/>\nbenefits, and up to HKD80,000 hospitalization benefit per policy year. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img src=\"https:\/\/release.media-outreach.com\/release.php\/Images\/Thumb\/500x0\/171943\/zh-en.jpg#image-171943\" width=\"500\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>According to government statistics<sup>3<\/sup>,&#13;<br \/>\nthere were close to 380,000 foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong at the end of&#13;<br \/>\n2020. Hong Kong people are known for their long hours at work, so domestic&#13;<br \/>\nhelpers are vital to a household&#8217;s cleanliness and meals, and also caring for&#13;<br \/>\nthe children and elderly. They are essential to running a home, and if a&#13;<br \/>\ndomestic helper were to be in an accident or have fallen ill, it may be&#13;<br \/>\nfinancially and emotionally consuming for the employer. At the same time,&#13;<br \/>\nemployers must be vigilant of the potential financial and liability risks from&#13;<br \/>\nhiring domestic helpers. Therefore, when selecting a domestic helper insurance&#13;<br \/>\nplan, employers must review every benefit detail to ensure the plan is the&#13;<br \/>\nright fit for both themselves and the hired help.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p><b>&#8220;Helpersafe&#8221; is a safety net when replacement is necessary<\/b><b\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Helpersafe&#8221; will pay the replacement expenses of&#13;<br \/>\nup to HKD5,000 per policy year if the replacement is necessary due to the&#13;<br \/>\nfollowing events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The domestic helper resigns within&#13;<br \/>\nthree months of the initial contract; or<\/li>\n<li>The domestic helper commits fraud&#13;<br \/>\nor dishonest acts; or<\/li>\n<li>The domestic helper goes missing&#13;<br \/>\nor leaves without prior notice; or<\/li>\n<li>The domestic helper intentionally&#13;<br \/>\nor negligently causes injury to the household children or elderly; or<\/li>\n<li>The domestic helper is repatriated&#13;<br \/>\nto his\/her home country as he\/she is medically unfit to carry on work<sup>4<\/sup>.\u00a0 <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p><b>Flexible medical protection<\/b> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>The domestic helper can enjoy up to HKD80,000&#13;<br \/>\nhospitalization benefit per policy year. They can also enjoy both network and&#13;<br \/>\nnon-network outpatient medical benefits. If the domestic helper visits the&#13;<br \/>\nselected network of general practitioners for consultation, neither co-payment&#13;<br \/>\nnor claims submission is needed. And virtual consultation service<sup>5<\/sup>&#13;<br \/>\nis available for domestic helpers to seek medical help without stepping foot&#13;<br \/>\noutside. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p><b>Optional benefit offers medical and hospitalization&#13;<br \/>\nprotection against heart disease and cancer for extra peace of mind<\/b><b\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Although conventional domestic helper insurance has&#13;<br \/>\nmedical protection, serious illnesses such as heart disease and cancer are&#13;<br \/>\noften not included in the regular or optional coverage. &#8220;Helpersafe&#8221; has especially&#13;<br \/>\nincluded heart disease and cancer as an optional benefit, offering related&#13;<br \/>\noutpatient expenses and hospitalization protection \u2013 up to HKD100,000 per&#13;<br \/>\npolicy year with the Deluxe Plan, and up to HKD50,000 per policy year with the&#13;<br \/>\nClassic Plan.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p><b>Daily premium as low as HKD2.6<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Helpersafe&#8221; annual premium can be as low as&#13;<br \/>\nHKD946, equivalent to less than HKD2.6 a day.
