CPA Australia found that&#13;<br \/>\ntechnologies such as data analytics and business intelligence software delivered&#13;<br \/>\na boon for the nation&#8217;s businesses.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img src=\"https:\/\/release.media-outreach.com\/release.php\/Images\/Thumb\/450x0\/170570\/Bryan-Chung-FCPA.jpg#image-170570\" width=\"450\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\"><b>Bryan&#13;<br \/>\nChung FCPA<\/b>: By using technology, Malaysian businesses&#13;<br \/>\nwere able to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and needs of consumers and&#13;<br \/>\nemployees<\/h5>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>We&#13;<br \/>\nsurveyed 725 professionals in different industries in Australia, Mainland&#13;<br \/>\nChina, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia and Singapore. Respondents were asked about&#13;<br \/>\ntheir businesses&#8217; past and expected technology use. The findings are reported&#13;<br \/>\nin our <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.intelligencebank.com\/au\/share\/4BKE\/7K2b\/EXy06\/original\/Business+Technology+Report+2021\">2021 Business&#13;<br \/>\nTechnology Report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>We&#13;<br \/>\nfound that over the past 12 months, Malaysian businesses focused on upskilling&#13;<br \/>\ntheir employees&#8217; technology capabilities, looked for opportunities to improve&#13;<br \/>\ntheir existing technology, and developed long-term technology or digital&#13;<br \/>\nstrategies. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>CPA&#13;<br \/>\nAustralia Malaysia Division Digital Transformation Committee Chairman, Bryan&#13;<br \/>\nChung FCPA, said that improving the technology they deployed in the past 12&#13;<br \/>\nmonths contributed to many Malaysian businesses&#8217; strong performances in a&#13;<br \/>\ndifficult environment.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Malaysian&#13;<br \/>\nbusinesses in our survey used technology to improve their operational&#13;<br \/>\nefficiency, reduce costs and improve customer experience. This is a prudent&#13;<br \/>\napproach given current market conditions and placed them in a good position to adapt&#13;<br \/>\nto rapidly changing conditions and needs of consumers and employees,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Our&#13;<br \/>\nreport reveals that businesses with a positive outlook on growth are looking to&#13;<br \/>\ninvest in data analytics and visualisation software, business intelligence&#13;<br \/>\nsoftware and cloud technology in the next 12 months than other businesses. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>We&#13;<br \/>\nalso found that most businesses are planning to investment in technology tools&#13;<br \/>\nin the next 12 months, which signals a shift from cost savings to revenue&#13;<br \/>\ngrowth. However, not all businesses may be in a position to seize this&#13;<br \/>\nopportunity. Small businesses in our survey cited financial constraints as their&#13;<br \/>\nmain challenge to technology adoption. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Chung&#13;<br \/>\nsaid that there are actually many funding opportunities available to Malaysian businesses&#13;<br \/>\nto help them access technologies that high growth businesses are much more&#13;<br \/>\nlikely to use.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The&#13;<br \/>\nMalaysian Government has committed to making Malaysia a nation of entrepreneurs&#13;<br \/>\nand innovators by the end of the decade. To better compete, small business in&#13;<br \/>\nMalaysia should fully embrace the 5G rollout by Digital Nasional Berhad over&#13;<br \/>\nthe next few years.
