Kandhamal now retired was facing trial in the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani in Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No.10 dated 13.3.2018 U\/s 13(2) r\/w 13(1)(d)\/7 <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Prevention of Corruption<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Act, 1988 for demand and acceptance of illegal gratification of Rs.2,000\/- (Rupees Two Thousand) <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">from complainant Sri Manoj Kumar Samal of village Kainjhar, PS-Tikabali, Dist. Kandhamal <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">in order to issue Encumbrance Certificate (E.C) in favour of complainant<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Today, i.e. on 29.6.2021, the Hon\u2019ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani convicted<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Sri Ojha, Ex-Junior Clerk and <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000\/- (Rupees Five Thousand)<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">, and <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 6 months for the offence U\/s <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">7\u00a0 <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Prevention of Corruption<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Act, 1988<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Sri P. Chatria, Inspector, Vigilance, Berhampur Division had investigated the case and Sri V.V. Ramdas, Spl.
