At the same time, it has&#13;<br \/>\naccelerated the development of online learning platforms around the world.&#13;<br \/>\nAccording to the &#8220;2020 Asia-Pacific Independent Learning White Paper&#8221; published&#13;<br \/>\nby the online self-learning startup Snapask, COVID-19 has changed the way we&#13;<br \/>\nlearn in many countries. The number of Snapask users has increased&#13;<br \/>\nexponentially in\u00a0Asia-Pacific (APAC), especially in Korea&#13;<br \/>\n(275%) and Japan (173%). According to the &#8220;2021 White Paper&#8221; published by&#13;<br \/>\nTaiwan&#8217;s biggest online education platform Hahow, in 2020, its number of users&#13;<br \/>\nincreased by 60%, its revenue doubled to reach 270 million NTD, and traffic to&#13;<br \/>\nits online platforms grew by 150%. \u00a0<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img src=\"https:\/\/release.media-outreach.com\/release.php\/Images\/Thumb\/500x0\/156662\/taiwan-photo.jpg#image-156662\" width=\"500\"\/><\/div>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-weight: normal\">Taiwanese online learning startups Hahow, VoiceTube and Snapask flourish during Pandemic<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>&#13; <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nIn mid-May, the number of COVID cases spiked in&#13;<br \/>\nTaiwan. Concurrently, traffic for Hahow&#8217;s enterprise-level courses &#8220;Hahow for&#13;<br \/>\nBusiness&#8221; grew by 200%, while the average time spent on these courses more than&#13;<br \/>\ndoubled. The online English-learning platform VoiceTube reported that the&#13;<br \/>\nnumber of web version users grew 75% month-over-month, while the number of new&#13;<br \/>\nregistrations on Snapask grew 35% month-over-month. All this goes to show that&#13;<br \/>\neducation has moved online after schools closed. Students are eagerly looking&#13;<br \/>\nfor learning resources on the internet to educate and improve themselves.&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nHahow, VoiceTube, and Snapask are three online&#13;<br \/>\nlearning platforms that are participating in &#8220;EduStartup 20+&#8221;, a startup&#13;<br \/>\naccelerator program cocreated by Taiwan&#8217;s National Development Council and&#13;<br \/>\nCommonWealth Parenting, the most influential education brand in the&#13;<br \/>\nChinese-speaking world. All three companies are pursuing a proactive market&#13;<br \/>\nstrategy that will expand their presence in the APAC region. For example, Hahow&#13;<br \/>\nis targeting Chinese-speaking users in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. By&#13;<br \/>\ndeveloping suitable intellectual property for lecturers, Hahow seeks to&#13;<br \/>\noptimize its user experience by promoting content overseas and attracting&#13;<br \/>\ninternational traffic. By providing educational content for free in smaller&#13;<br \/>\npackages, VoiceTube has so far been able to secure 300,000 new user&#13;<br \/>\nregistrations in Japan. Beginning this month, VoiceTube will offer paid content&#13;<br \/>\nin Japan featuring advanced educational functions and courses. As for Snapask,&#13;<br \/>\nit is mainly focusing on markets in Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia. It&#13;<br \/>\nwill introduce online video courses based on the local curriculums and provide&#13;<br \/>\nafterschool learning programs for middle-schoolers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13; <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\nThe National Development Council has devoted a&#13;<br \/>\nlot of effort to helping Taiwanese startups compete on the world stage.
