The revolutionary solar panel system overcomes space and&#13;<br \/>\nloading constraints of most buildings while safeguarding building structure. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img src=\"https:\/\/release.media-outreach.com\/release.php\/Images\/Thumb\/500x0\/154294\/nefin.jpg#image-154294\" width=\"500\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>The project adopts a dual-purpose solar panel&#13;<br \/>\nsystem comprising both traditional rigid solar panels and flexible solar panels&#13;<br \/>\ncatered to fit different rooftop loading capacity. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>The&#13;<br \/>\ntraditional way of setting up rigid solar panels makes use of long plinths or&#13;<br \/>\nbricks to support the panels on rooftops. However this &#8220;counter weight&#8221;&#13;<br \/>\ninstallation method does not suit all existing buildings. While this method&#13;<br \/>\ncomplies with international and local codes and regulations, the weight of the system&#13;<br \/>\nmay exceed the loading limit of a rooftop. The installation also involves direct&#13;<br \/>\nbolting to the floor to safely secure the panels, which may damage the surface&#13;<br \/>\nand the water proofing layer of rooftops. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>This&#13;<br \/>\nproject has adopted an innovative approach to installation. By directly fixing&#13;<br \/>\nthe flexible PV panels to the roof surface, wind-load and dead-load are&#13;<br \/>\nsignificantly reduced, allowing for the full utilisation of the available&#13;<br \/>\nstructural loading of the roof and hence, maximize the overall solar plant&#13;<br \/>\ncapacity. This is a convenient and innovative alternative for corporations seeking&#13;<br \/>\nrenewable energy solutions and carbon neutrality.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Each&#13;<br \/>\nof the low reflectance PV panels utilised in the Cyberport&#8217;s solar power system&#13;<br \/>\ncarries multiple sensors that measure solar radiance and environment changes. These&#13;<br \/>\nsensors collect scientific data to measure system performance which can be further&#13;<br \/>\nutilised to develop an advanced monitoring system, facilitating the development&#13;<br \/>\nof environmental technology and renewable energy in Hong Kong. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Chief&#13;<br \/>\nExecutive Officer of NEFIN Group, Mr Glenn Lim, commented, &#8220;This particular&#13;<br \/>\ntype of solar PV system provides a convenient carbon neutrality solution for facility&#13;<br \/>\nowners who were once hindered by space constraint.
