\nannounced and presented at the QBA 2020 Award Presentation Ceremony today (2
\nJune 2021) at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. The jury panel of 15 property sector
\nleaders have recognised exceptional building projects under 6 award categories,
\nwith Hong Kong Children’s Hospital <\/b>winning both the top Quality
\nExcellence Award and the Grand Award of Hong Kong Non-Residential (New Building
\n– Government, Institution of Community) Category. <\/p>\n
\n

\n
<\/p>\n
Co-organised by nine leading professional institutions of the property
\nsector in Hong Kong, the biennial Quality Building Award marks its 10th<\/sup> edition in 2020. This edition celebrates
\nproperty professionals and projects which have transformed the community
\nthrough building with heart and care. Other Grand Award winners include One * ArtLane<\/b> (Hong Kong
\nResidential (Single Building) Category); <\/b>On Tai Estate Public Rental Housing Development<\/b> (Hong Kong
\nResidential (Multiple Buildings) Category); Victoria Dockside<\/b>
\n(Hong Kong Non-Residential (New Building \u2013 Non-Government, Institution of
\nCommunity) Category); and Tai Kwun – The Cente for
\nHeritage and Arts<\/b> (Hong Kong Building (Renovation \/ Revitalization) Category).<\/p>\n

Winner of the Quality Excellence Award, H<\/b>ong Kong Children’s
\nHospital<\/b> will receive the “Excellence
\nCup<\/b>” on which names of all past and future winning projects have been or
\nwill be engraved. As the hall of fame of Hong Kong’s property sector, the Cup
\nwill be retained by current winner until the next edition.<\/p>\n

“As you are aware, we
\nhave recently enacted local legislation to implement an improved electoral
\nsystem in accordance with the amended Annex I and Annex II to the Basic Law
\napproved by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. The
\nimproved electoral system will ensure the faithful implementation of “One
\nCountry, Two Systems” and “patriots administering Hong Kong”, effectively
\nputting an end to the political chaos which impeded Hong Kong’s progress in
\nrecent years. It will provide an environment for all of us to build Hong Kong’s
\nfuture, and I do mean it literally. The Government will spend at least HK$100
\nbillion annually in capital works projects in the coming years. Together with
\nthe private sector, we forecast that the annual construction output in Hong
\nKong will total around HK$300 billion, generating over 300 000 employment
\nopportunities. Our building and construction sector, and the wide-ranging
\nindustries and companies that drive it, can look forward to a future filled
\nwith opportunities. Judging by the Award entries, I’m confident that you will
\nfill those opportunities with professionalism, care and passion,” said Mrs Carrie Lam, GBM, GBS, our Guest of Honour, Chief Executive of
