These are <b>EZ Plus Critical Care<\/b>&#13;<br \/>\nwhich covers most prevalent\u00a0 critical&#13;<br \/>\nillnesses; cancer, stroke, heart attack and kidney failure; and <b>Cancer Care&#13;<br \/>\n365<\/b> which is focused specifically on cancers. Both of MSIG&#8217;s new critical&#13;<br \/>\nillness products provide policyholders with a lump sum payment for any of the&#13;<br \/>\ncovered critical illnesses, at the early and\/or critical stage of the illness.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>While&#13;<br \/>\nmost Malaysians are familiar with conventional medical insurance products and&#13;<br \/>\nplans (typically the ones which provide a medical card), critical illness&#13;<br \/>\ninsurance is designed to provide an extra blanket of financial protection in&#13;<br \/>\nthe unfortunate event of them being diagnosed with a critical illness. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>MSIG&#13;<br \/>\nis launching both products to provide very targeted, very affordable, critical&#13;<br \/>\nillness insurance which can be accessed by more Malaysians. Consumer awareness&#13;<br \/>\nof the costs of healthcare have risen recently and many people who may not&#13;<br \/>\npreviously have considered critical illness cover now understand the need to do&#13;<br \/>\nso. Likewise, others, who may already have existing coverage, can see the value&#13;<br \/>\nin extending or &#8216;topping up&#8217; their critical illness coverage by adding MSIG&#8217;s&#13;<br \/>\naffordable plans to provide additional financial protection for themselves and&#13;<br \/>\ntheir families.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>MSIG&#8217;s&#13;<br \/>\n<b>EZ Plus Critical Care <\/b>product offers a lump sum payout of up to&#13;<br \/>\nRM200,000 along with a variety of other benefits including recuperative, supplementary&#13;<br \/>\nmedicine and travel allowances if the policyholder is diagnosed with a covered&#13;<br \/>\nillness. There is also an additional no claim bonus which provides a 10% per&#13;<br \/>\nannum increase in the initial sum insured for every no-claim-year up to 5 years.&#13;<br \/>\nTo provide customers with greater flexibility and ensure affordability, <b>EZ&#13;<br \/>\nPlus Critical Care<\/b> gives customers two options of plan with differing&#13;<br \/>\nbenefits and costs.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>The&#13;<br \/>\n<b>Cancer Care 365<\/b> insurance product has been designed to specifically&#13;<br \/>\naddress the concerns of people worried about the risk of developing cancer. The&#13;<br \/>\nproduct offers a lump sum payout of up to RM250,000, which can be increased by&#13;<br \/>\nan additional 50% in the event of the policyholder developing a gender-related&#13;<br \/>\ncancer. The product also provides other benefits which include payment of&#13;<br \/>\nallowances for recuperation, supplementary medicine, purchase of mobile data&#13;<br \/>\nand compensation for surviving parent(s) in the event of death as a result of a&#13;<br \/>\ncancer. The Cancer Care product provides customers with three plan options&#13;<br \/>\nwhich enables them to choose the level of coverage and cost which they are most&#13;<br \/>\ncomfortable with.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>While&#13;<br \/>\nconventional medical insurance covers the&#13;<br \/>\ncost of treatment and medication when people are hospitalised, critical illness&#13;<br \/>\ninsurance can provide the extra financial support to enable people to get back&#13;<br \/>\non their feet quickly. The lump sum payout can help cover any big expenses such&#13;<br \/>\nas additional nursing and therapy costs, which they may have incurred beyond&#13;<br \/>\ntheir medical policy, as well as helping people cope with potential disruptions&#13;<br \/>\nto their work and income. This can help minimise financial and lifestyle stress&#13;<br \/>\nfor both them and their loved ones, which can also contribute positively to their&#13;<br \/>\nrecovery.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Mr&#13;<br \/>\nChua Seck Guan, CEO of MSIG Malaysia, said, <i>&#8220;<\/i><i>As&#13;<br \/>\nwe all know, the cost of <\/i><i>treating critical illnesses is getting more expensive&#13;<br \/>\nevery year and the impact that it makes on people&#8217;s lives is growing ever&#13;<br \/>\nlarger.
