\n– To remain competitive in Singapore’s recovering economy,
\nthree- quarters (75%) of employers in Singapore see the importance of carrying
\nout regular training needs analysis for their workforce to drive the
\ncompetitiveness of their business. However, more than half of them (55%) say
\nthey need <\/span>external help to assess the skills gaps of
\ntheir employees, alluding that more help is needed by companies to carry out
\neffective skills mapping and learning, and development strategies.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/release.media-outreach.com\/release.php\/Images\/Thumb\/500x0\/148596\/A5-ESR-PressRelease-MayIssue-2.jpg#image-148596\")

\n <\/p>\nThese are some of the key findings in the
\nrecent NTUC LearningHub (NTUC LHUB)’s Employer Skills Survey report. The
\nsurvey, which was conducted in February 2021 with business leaders across
\nSingapore, aimed to uncover the most in-demand skillsets a year post-pandemic.
\nThe findings include the top skills by industry clusters: Built Environment,
\nEssential Domestic Services, Lifestyle, Manufacturing and Professional
\nServices, and Trade and Connectivity.<\/p>\n
\n <\/p>\nIn
\naddition, when asked if getting their employees’ capabilities assessed by an
\nexternal consultant would yield a more accurate and actionable result compared
\nto it being done internally, 52% of the respondents agreed or strongly agreed,
\nwhile 30% were neutral, 14% disagreed and only 6% strongly disagreed.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n <\/p>\nCommenting
\non the findings, NTUC LHUB’s Director of Institute of Business Excellence and Healthcare
\nAcademy, Jenaline Low, says, “With the evolving market demands and diversity
\nacross different sectors, learning can no longer be delivered through a ‘cookie
\ncutter’ approach. We have observed that as much as companies are investing time
\nand resources into training and upskilling their workforces, many of them still
\nrequire help in their skills competency mapping and training needs analysis.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n“At
\nNTUC LHUB, we offer companies advisory services to support for their specific
\nlearning needs. Working hand-in-hand with companies, we help them to be better
\npoised to capture new business opportunities through workforce redesign for job
\nexpansion and enlargement. This is then supported by training needs analysis to
\nre-skill and upskill through customised training solution design and delivery,
\nand with back-end support such as funding and claims administration.”<\/span><\/p>\n
