\n2 teams from Asia, Team ProTag<\/b><\/a> (New Zealand)<\/b>
\nwinning the Earth category and <\/b>Team Threeotech<\/b><\/a> (Thailand) <\/b>emerging
\ntop in the Lifestyle category. This was following an exciting two rounds of the
\nWorld Finals where 12 shortlisted teams gave a 3-minute project pitch followed
\nby a Q&A session with judges to compete for a spot in the World

\nyear’s 2021 Imagine Cup virtual competition saw tens of thousands of teams from
\n163 countries using innovative technologies, like AI, Power Platform, and Big
\nData to develop their ideas into impactful and inspiring technological
\nsolutions that make a difference. World Finalists had to submit innovations in
\none of the four competition categories: Earth<\/a>,\u00a0Education<\/a>,\u00a0Healthcare<\/a>, and\u00a0Lifestyle<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
\nfour World finalists impressed the judges with their innovative ideas, pushing
\nthe envelope on the possibilities of improving our society as well as creating
\na brighter and inclusive future for all. From Asia, under the Lifestyle
\ncategory, Team Threeotech<\/b> developed a solution, “JustSigns”, a web
\napplication for content creators to create sign language captions to improve
\nmedia accessibility for their hearing-impaired viewers. In the Earth category, Team
\nProTag<\/b> created a solution, “ProTag”, a smart ear tag for livestock that
\nuses technologies like mixed reality, IoT and Azure to detect the early onset
\nof illness in real-time. This is part of efforts to inculcate sustainable
\nfarming, lower costs and increase animal welfare along with providing farmers
\nwith a peace of mind. Both teams from Asia will be competing alongside two
\nother teams from Kenya and United States for the Imagine Cup World
\nChampionships trophy in May, along with USD75,000 and a mentoring session with
\nSatya Nadella, Chief Executive Officer, Microsoft Corp.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\nparticipated in the World Finals Competition include:<\/b><\/p>\n

\nthe Healthcare category, Intelli-sense developed a solution, “Vision” that seeks
\nto leverage cutting-edge technologies, to provide a sense of vision for the
\nvisually impaired by providing solutions to help them perceive their
\nsurrounding in real-time. <\/li>\n
\nthe Lifestyle category, DataMasker developed a solution, “WellMask”, an
\nArtificial Intelligence social mask built to enhance social interaction. It is
\nintegrated with technologies to support “real-time speech transcription”, “intention
\nextraction” and “emotion recognition”.
\nVirtual Radiologist (Nepal):<\/b> Under
\nthe Earth category, Virtual Radiologist developed a solution, “Pico Sat”, a
\nminiature version of an environmental satellite that utilizes the Azure
\nplatform and PowerBI. It aims to provide information about your environment -
\naltitude, temperature, humidity, pressure, dust and pressure level of present
\ntime – be it a small room or open space or betterment of Earth’s climate. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\nannually since 2003, the Microsoft Imagine Cup is the world’s premier student
\ntechnology competition, affectionately known by participants as the “Olympics
\nof student technology competitions”. This year’s Imagine Cup encouraged
\nparticipants to “Dream it. Build it. Live it” in order to create applications
\nthat shape how individuals live, work and play and through their creativity,
