Such impressive figure demonstrates the enthusiastic&#13;<br \/>\nresponse from the world&#8217;s scientific community to this newly established&#13;<br \/>\nsci-tech prize as well as VinFuture&#8217;s mission of serving humanity.<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><b><img src=\"https:\/\/release.media-outreach.com\/release.php\/Images\/Thumb\/500x0\/137124\/Anh-1-2-.jpg#image-137124\" width=\"500\"\/><br \/><\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">The Prize&#13;<br \/>\nCouncil held its inaugural meeting on January 20th, 2021, agreeing that&#13;<br \/>\nnominations will be sought from all nations and on a global scale.<\/p>\n<p>The&#13;<br \/>\nVinFuture Prize officially launched its call for nominations on February 3<sup>rd<\/sup>,&#13;<br \/>\n2021, and has so far attracted more than 500 recognized scientists,&#13;<br \/>\nuniversities and organizations around the world to serve as Official Nominators&#13;<br \/>\nfor the Prize. The majority of nominators are from Asia (35,6%), North America&#13;<br \/>\n(32%), and followed by those in Europe (21.7%), Oceania (7.2%), and Latin&#13;<br \/>\nAmerica and Africa (3.5%).<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Regarding&#13;<br \/>\nthe areas of expertise of the organizational\/individual nominators, due to the&#13;<br \/>\nimpact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the urgent demand in healthcare, nominators&#13;<br \/>\nin the field of biomedical research constitute a large proportion of 29.2%,&#13;<br \/>\nfollowed by chemistry-physics (23.6%), computer science, data, artificial&#13;<br \/>\nintelligence, and robotics (16.3%), and environment, renewable energy and new&#13;<br \/>\nmaterials (18.3%).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">The remaining are individual\/organizational nominators in&#13;<br \/>\nthe interdisciplinary fields.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>The&#13;<br \/>\nnominators are globally influential experts, reputable researchers, and&#13;<br \/>\nscientists, laureates of international prestigious science and technology&#13;<br \/>\nprizes, as well as renowned universities, academies, research institutes,&#13;<br \/>\ntechnology corporations and innovation incubators from 36 different countries.&#13;<br \/>\nNotably, there have been favorable responses from scientists at leading&#13;<br \/>\nuniversities and research institutes in the world, such as the Harvard&#13;<br \/>\nUniversity (USA), where many prominent scientists converge; the National&#13;<br \/>\nInstitutes of Health (NIH, USA) &#8211; the lead agency of the U.S. government in&#13;<br \/>\npublic health; the Max Planck Society (Germany)- the world&#8217;s leading research&#13;<br \/>\norganization in science and technology; the\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\nUniversity of Cambridge, the University of\u00a0 Oxford, which are well-known for natural\u00a0 science and engineering, being home to many&#13;<br \/>\nNobel Laureates; the\u00a0 University of&#13;<br \/>\nTokyo- \u00a0the leading higher&#13;<br \/>\neducation organization in Japan and the Chinese Academy of Science, the world&#8217;s largest research&#13;<br \/>\norganization. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Dr.&#13;<br \/>\nLe Mai Lan \u2013 Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup cum Designated Representative of the&#13;<br \/>\nVinFuture Foundation remarked: <i>&#8220;VinFuture&#13;<br \/>\nPrize is a new initiative and is also the first science and technology prize&#13;<br \/>\noriginating from Vietnam. Hence, we are delighted to have more than 500 recognized&#13;<br \/>\norganizations and\u00a0 individuals and from&#13;<br \/>\nall over the world register to make nominations in just over one month after we&#13;<br \/>\nlaunched the Call for Nominations.
