Sundargarh was facing trial in the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh in Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.42 dated 1.8.2007 U\/s 13(2) r\/w 13(1)(d)\/7 <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Prevention of Corruption<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Act, 1988 for demand and acceptance of illegal gratification of Rs.4,000\/- (Rupees Four Thousand) <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">from complainant Sri Narahari Bhoi of village Bijadihi, PS-Lephripada, Dist. Sundargarh <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">in order to process the pension paper of his \u00a0father<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">On 25.3.2021, the Hon\u2019ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh convicted<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Sri Pradhan, Junior Clerk and <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and to pay fine of Rs.5,000\/- (Rupees Five Thousand)<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">, and <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 months for the offence U\/s <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">7\u00a0 <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Prevention of Corruption<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Act, 1988<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">. Hon\u2019ble Court further sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000\/-<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">(Rupees Five Thousand),<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 months for the offence U\/s <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">13(1)(d) r\/w 13(2)\u00a0 <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Prevention of Corruption<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Act, 1988.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Both the sentences are to run concurrently.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Sri Dharmesh Kumar Patel, Spl.
