\npromises of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\nHistory Month, the Foundation is coordinating a series of activities in March,
\nincluding the dialogue on ACCELERATING WOMEN’S ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT. The
\ndiscussion will be led by Taiwan’s Minister without Portfolio Audrey Tang, State Secretary to Minister for Gender Equality of Sweden,
\nKarin Strand\u00e5s, and Taiwan’s Ambassador at Large Lin Ching-Yi.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
\nabout the country’s plan to achieve Goal 5 of the SDGs on gender equality
\nthrough social innovation and economic empowerment. The charismatic minister
\nwill divulge how she works with the government to give citizens the space to be
\nsocially innovative. <\/p>\n

\n
<\/p>\n
\npublic policy making. The former legislator will talk about how law reform can
\ncontribute to creating the conditions for gender equality. <\/p>\n
\n

\nadvancing women’s economic rights and independence, investing in women’s
\nempowerment, and supporting marginalized women to earn, save money, and improve
\ntheir health and wellbeing. <\/p>\n

\nthe non-government organization forum to the UN’s Commission on the Status of
\nWomen (NGO-CSW), there will be another 26 parallel sessions organized by
\nTaiwanese NGOs. The active participation of Taiwan’s civil society organization
\nin the NGO-CSW forum is an indication of the advances Taiwan has made toward
\ngender equality in recent years. <\/p>\n

\nGender Equality Index, and has become the first Asian country to legalize
\nsame-sex marriage in 2019. This year, Taiwan took steps to expand the law to
\nallow same-sex marriage between Taiwanese citizens and foreigners. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
\nthe restrictions, the enthusiastic participation of Taiwan’s NGOs shows that
\nTaiwan is ready to hit the road running in the post-pandemic race for gender
\nequality.<\/p>\n
