Themed &#8216;Shaping the Energy of&#13;<br \/>\nTomorrow&#8217;, the 2-day virtual event held from March 9 to 10, 2021 saw more than&#13;<br \/>\n2,500 participants actively engage in the discussions, opinion polls and&#13;<br \/>\nquestions. The&#13;<br \/>\nbiggest issue for us is the affordability of tariffs followed by concerns of&#13;<br \/>\nenergy security as our energy infrastructure is in the hands of the private&#13;<br \/>\nsector. Therefore, we need to find the balance between accessibility,&#13;<br \/>\naffordability, and sustainability. As regards to our country&#8217;s sustainable&#13;<br \/>\nfuture, we have issued a moratorium for green power plants. We have also signed&#13;<br \/>\nvarious MoUs to develop Hydrogen solutions and are looking at the electrolysis&#13;<br \/>\ntechnology for power generation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p><b>H.E. Ramp up the contribution of renewables for long-term&#13;<br \/>\nsustainability <\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Under our National Grand Energy Strategy, we&#13;<br \/>\nhope to bring more renewable into the energy system of about 23% of the energy&#13;<br \/>\nmix by 2025, its equivalent to additional 38GW renewable powerplant by 2035. We&#13;<br \/>\nhave a lot of resources that are fossil-based such as coal deposits, oil and&#13;<br \/>\nnatural gas as well as enormous renewable potential are our primary energy&#13;<br \/>\nsources. In the next 10 years, we want to leverage on technology to build up&#13;<br \/>\ncapacity and infrastructure including 18 priority transmissions, 7 smart grid projects&#13;<br \/>\nand renewable energy. Another program to reduce petroleum consumption, we have&#13;<br \/>\nabout 5,200 diesel power plants right now scattered across 2,130 locations in&#13;<br \/>\nIndonesia and we are serious on the journey of converting diesel plants to&#13;<br \/>\nrenewable energy to possibly reduce up to 0.7mil tonnes of carbon emissions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p class=\"PRBodytext\"><b>H.E. In order to drive execution to become much cheaper, we will need&#13;<br \/>\nthe strong support from regulators and the government, as well as a close&#13;<br \/>\ncollaboration within the energy sector.
