Kandhamal, was facing trial in the Court of Hon\u2019ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani in Berhampur Vigilance PS case No.49 dt.24.12.2014 U\/s 13(2) r\/w 13(1)(c)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988\/409\/120-B IPC, for misappropriation of Government money amounting to Rs.8,96,400\/-( Rupees Eight Lakhs Ninety-six Thousand Four Hundred) without execution of school building.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Friday i.e. on 5.3.2021, the Hon\u2019ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani convicted Sri Simanchal Nayak, Ex-Head Master-cum-Secretary and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 years and to pay fine of Rs.6,00,000\/- (Rupees Six Lakhs), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year for the offence U\/s 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and to pay fine of Rs.10,000\/- (Rupees Ten Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 6 months for the offence U\/s 409 IPC. Both the sentences are to run concurrently. The convict Sri Nayak has been remanded to judicial custody.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sri Arun Kumar Nayak, the then Inspector, Vigilance, Phulbani Unit under Berhampur Division, A\/p. DSP, Vigilance, Berhampur Division and Sri Pulasti Chhatria, the then Inspector, Vigilance, Phulbani Unit under Berhampur Division, A\/p. Inspector, Vigilance, Boudh Unit under Berhampur Division \u00a0had investigated the case and Sri P.K. Dora, Spl.
