\n New facility targets growth sectors in Australia and New Zealand <\/p>\n

SYDNEY,
\nAUSTRALIA\u00a0–\u00a0Media OutReach<\/a>\u00a0– 17 February 2021 –\u00a0<\/b>Henkel Australia has officially
\nopened the upgraded Innovation and Application Lab in Seven Hills, Sydney,
\nAustralia. As a global leader in adhesives, sealants and functional coatings,
\nthe upgraded facility positions Henkel at the forefront of innovation for key
\ngrowth sectors in Australia and New Zealand, namely food and beverage,
\npackaging, engineered wood and general manufacturing and maintenance.<\/p>\n

Daniel Rudolph, President of Henkel Australia and
\nNew Zealand, said, “Henkel’s customers are looking for the latest

\nsustainability footprint. The upgrading of our Innovation and Application Lab
\nallows us to test and tailor solutions to meet the requirements of the local
\nmarket, ranging from the latest in product design and food safety standards to

The Innovation and Application Lab is co-located
\nat Henkel’s adhesive manufacturing facility. This facilitates a rapid
\ntransition and reduces the time to market from product concept and development
\nto volume production.<\/p>\n

\nTechnologies at Henkel Australia and New Zealand, highlighted several advanced
\ntechnical capabilities of the lab.<\/p>\n

  • Using state-of-the-art equipment, the lab conducts performance testing
    \n of customers’ samples to meet the international standards for engineered
    \n wood, namely AS\/NZS 1328 for glue laminated timber and AS 5068-2006 for
    \n timber finger joints in structural products. Henkel is also able to
    \n validate the performance of new primer and wood species with our
    \n adhesives.<\/li>\n

  • With the Anton Parr rheometer, Henkel chemists can stringently test
    \n complex rheological behavior in food packaging solutions.\u00a0<\/li>\n

  • Tapping into its polymerization capability, the lab is looking into
    \n developing customized water-based technologies for the Australia and New
    \n Zealand markets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
