While hiring activities&#13;<br \/>\ndipped 37% in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, optimism is starting to show, with 33% of companies in Thailand looking&#13;<br \/>\nto increase their headcounts and 32% maintaining status quo in 2021.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img src=\"https:\/\/release.media-outreach.com\/release.php\/Images\/Thumb\/500x0\/124412\/Kristoffer-Paludan.jpg#image-124412\" width=\"500\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\">Kristoffer Paludan, Regional Director of&#13;<br \/>\nMichael Page Thailand<\/h5>\n<p>Kristoffer Paludan, Regional Director of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michaelpage.co.th\/\">Michael&#13;<br \/>\nPage Thailand<\/a> says, &#8220;Like other&#13;<br \/>\nmarkets in the region, Thailand&#8217;s technology sector stayed afloat and&#13;<br \/>\nresilient, particularly for e-commerce and other internet-based businesses.&#13;<br \/>\nFood production, too, proved to be a bright spot, which in turn carried other&#13;<br \/>\nassociated industries, such as chemical, agriculture, as well as agritech.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>In&#13;<br \/>\nview of the economic demands, the sectors earmarked for highest hiring activity&#13;<br \/>\nare industrial\/manufacturing, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), technology&#13;<br \/>\n&amp; telecommunications, healthcare\/pharmaceutical as well as retail. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>According to the report, the COVID-19&#13;<br \/>\npandemic also served to hasten the adoption of digitisation. Over the course of&#13;<br \/>\nthe year, companies in Thailand have adapted to digitisation demands within&#13;<br \/>\nimpressively short timeframes. Technologies like virtualisation and cloud&#13;<br \/>\naccess have allowed many businesses to get as close to &#8216;business as usual&#8217; as&#13;<br \/>\npossible. <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>According to the report, 67% of employed&#13;<br \/>\ntechnology professionals in Thailand anticipate looking for new opportunities&#13;<br \/>\nin 2021 while another&#13;<br \/>\n31% is passively open to new ones, suggesting increased employment activity. Considering&#13;<br \/>\nthe competition for high-potential tech professionals, Kristoffer Paludan advises, &#8220;Candidates move jobs primarily due&#13;<br \/>\nto the dynamic nature of the business, which is constantly adapting to changing&#13;<br \/>\nmarket demands and practises.
