A Team of ICAR-CIFA Scientists Dr.B.N.Paul, Dr.S.S.Giri, Dr.H.K.De, Dr.S.Adhikari, Dr.R.N.Mandal, and Dr.S.K.Swain established the farmer field school for farmer to farmer learning and dissemination of aquaculture technologies. <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12237 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/C-1-300x191.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"191\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/C-1-300x191.jpg 300w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/C-1-768x488.jpg 768w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/C-1.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The initiatives of Dr. B. N. Paul, Nodal officer of SCSP Scheme and Shri Sibananda Singha, Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Majhian, Patiram have led to the establishment of the Field School\u00a0 for empowering over 2500 farmers in 20 nearby villages in adopting scientific aquaculture practices. Shri Sibananda Singha in his welcome address highlighted the roles played by the KVK for livelihood development in Dakshn Dinajpur district. Shri Biplab Chandra Roy is the Operator Farmer of the Aquaculture Farmer Field School. While inaugurating the field school virtually Dr.S.K. Swain, Director of ICAR-CIFA appreciated the initiatives and assured the farmers and farm women the technical support from ICAR-CIFA. He highlighted the efforts made by ICAR-CIFA under Scheduled caste sub plan (SCSP) scheme of Government of India in helping the farmers of Dakshin Dinajpur for adopting advanced farming techniques. Dr. S.S. Giri, Head, Fish Nutrition and Physiology Division of ICAR-CIFA, on virtual platform, highlighted the role of field schools in empowering farmers for strengthening rural livelihood. Dr.R.N.Mandal Scientist of ICAR-CIFA, Dr.J.Karforma, Associate Dean of college of Agriculture, Dr.Saikat Mukherjee, <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12238 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/C-2-300x190.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/C-2-300x190.jpg 300w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/C-2-768x487.jpg 768w, https:\/\/eodishasamachar.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/C-2.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Deputy Director of Extension Education of UBKV and Subject matter specialists of Majhian Dakshin Dinajpur KVK also participated in the programme. Mr. Amrita Das of Hare Krishna fish Farm also attended the meeting.\u00a0 Indian Major Carp and catfish seed was distributed to the selected farmers under SCSP Sceme. Around 120 farmers and farm women attended the programme maintaining COVID guidelines.
