To better&#13;<br \/>\nsupport the public in building effective health habits, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rb.com\/\">Reckitt Benckiser Hong&#13;<br \/>\nKong Limited<\/a> (RB) is revealing the findings from its recently-commissioned survey,&#13;<br \/>\nnamed the &#8220;Hong Kong Wellness in Action Index&#8221;[1]. More than&#13;<br \/>\n  half of the parents agree that their children feel more anxious and agitated&#13;<br \/>\n  during the pandemic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n  &#13;<br \/>\n  &#13;<br \/>\n  &#13;\n  <\/td>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n <\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p><b><u>Give Yourself a Reason to Begin with Experts&#8217; Wellness Lifehacks: <\/u><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/12JDBaF-7MpAKvJDzUdhsfFF2tcne2-5j\/view?usp=sharing\"><b>Link<\/b><\/a><b><u\/><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Based&#13;<br \/>\non the survey findings, an expert panel consisting of a physiotherapist,&#13;<br \/>\npsychiatric specialist, clinical psychologist and social worker put together a&#13;<br \/>\nset of tailor-made &#8220;Wellness Lifehacks&#8221; to help the public improve their&#13;<br \/>\nphysical, mental and social wellbeing. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Dr. Gregory Mak, a Psychiatric&#13;<br \/>\nSpecialist, pointed out, &#8220;The survey showed that many people have low confidence&#13;<br \/>\nin building new health habits and are easily affected by procrastination. To tackle the issues, we propose a&#13;<br \/>\nsimple 5-step approach to help changing their mindsets at the beginning of the&#13;<br \/>\nYear of the Ox.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Ms.&#13;<br \/>\nWendy Shum, a Registered Physiotherapist, said &#8220;Many people want to start exercising&#13;<br \/>\nduring the pandemic, however, there could be &#8216;blind spots&#8217; when one is starting&#13;<br \/>\nout. For example, injuries have increased as people are doing exercises as instructed&#13;<br \/>\nvia online videos without proper supervision. With our &#8216;Wellness Lifehacks&#8217;, we&#13;<br \/>\nhope to enable the public to develop healthier lifestyles in a better and safer&#13;<br \/>\nway.&#8221; \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Ms.&#13;<br \/>\nFelicia Lau, a Registered Clinical Psychologist, added, &#8220;This survey revealed&#13;<br \/>\nplenty of insights. For example, many respondents agreed that the pandemic made&#13;<br \/>\nthem care more about their family and friends. Thus, we recommend the public to&#13;<br \/>\nexpress their care to the loved ones and keep in close contact with friends, to&#13;<br \/>\nimprove their wellbeing and enrich their social lives. We also hope to encourage&#13;<br \/>\nthem to embrace positive changes brought by the pandemic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p><b><u>Key&#13;<br \/>\nSurvey Findings<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p><b>Low&#13;<br \/>\nsatisfaction levels towards social wellbeing<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>For&#13;<br \/>\na score of 0-100, respondents have higher levels of satisfaction for &#8220;physical wellbeing&#8221;&#13;<br \/>\nat 70 points and &#8220;mental wellbeing&#8221; at 64 points. &#8220;Social wellbeing&#8221; only scored&#13;<br \/>\nlow at 59 points. Nearly 60% of respondents say their satisfaction levels&#13;<br \/>\ntowards social wellbeing has declined in the past three months, which may be a reflection&#13;<br \/>\non the lack of social interaction brought by the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p><b>Establishing health habits is regarded as a &#8220;lost cause&#8221; <\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13; <\/p>\n<p>Over&#13;<br \/>\n90% of respondents say they are keen to develop new health habits in 2021,&#13;<br \/>\nciting three main goals &#8212; &#8220;do more exercise&#8221; (84%), &#8220;maintain a healthy diet&#8221;&#13;<br \/>\n(72%) and &#8220;engage in more outdoor activities&#8221; (52%). However, less than 40% of&#13;<br \/>\nrespondents have confidence in maintaining these habits.
