Case No.75 dt.8.11.2012 U\/s 13(2) r\/w 13(1)(d)\/7 <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Prevention of Corruption<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Act, 1988 for demand and acceptance of illegal gratification of Rs.1,000\/- (Rupees One Thousand) <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">from complainant Sri Murali Dehury of village <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Chandrasekharprasad, PS-Sadar, Dist. Dhenkanal in order to recommend release of 3<sup>rd<\/sup> installment under IAY scheme in favour of the complainant<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Wednesday\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> i.e. on 20.1.2021, the Hon\u2019ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Dhenkanal convicted<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Sri Mahanta and <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000\/- (Rupees Five Thousand)<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">, and <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 months for the offence U\/s <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">7\u00a0 <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Prevention of Corruption<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Act, 1988<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">. Hon\u2019ble Court further sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and to pay fine of Rs.2,000\/-<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">(Rupees Two Thousand),<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 months for the offence\u00a0U\/s <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">13(2) r\/w 13(1)(d) <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Prevention of Corruption<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Act, 1988.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> Both the sentences are to run concurrently.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Sri K. Ch. Pattnaik, Spl.
