\nbeing a responsible corporate citizen, have opened the Prince
\nHorology Vocational Training Center, Cambodia’s first independent
\nwatch school. The training center gives Cambodians the
\nopportunity to learn a new artisanal skill — watchmaking — and gain the
\nnecessary experience to help them in job markets in Cambodia and abroad. The
\ntraining center follows the strict regulations for watchmaking outlined by
\nregulatory bodies in Switzerland.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
\nartisanal skills for generations, with the Kingdom well-known for its ancient
\nhandwoven silk and traditional handicraft industries that boast a heritage
\ndating back to the time of the Khmer Empire, a significance that Chen Zhi and
\nPrince Group have always understood and appreciated.<\/p>\n
\n
<\/p>\n
\nopportunities for Cambodians, especially as the textile and garment industry, much
\nlike other sectors, has suffered greatly due to the COVID-19 pandemic with
\nmedia reports indicating that more than 55,000 workers have been stranded
\nwithout an income.[1]<\/sup><\/p>\n
\n
<\/p>\n
\nbusinesses in a bid to restore balance to their lives. To that end, <\/b>Chen Zhi and
\nPrince Group have launched the Prince Horology Vocational Training
\nCenter in Phenom Penh, Cambodia to help introduce opportunities to learn new
\nskills.<\/p>\n

\nmodelled on the certificate f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de capacit\u00e9<\/i>\u00a0(CFC), standards
\nfor vocational training defined by the Swiss government that are widely
\nconsidered the industry norm for basic watchmaking education.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
\nGroup’s environment, social and governance (ESG) endeavours in Cambodia, the
\ncenter also offers scholarships to local students and those requiring
\nfinancial assistance, ranging from a 50% subsidy of the school fees to a fully
\npaid scholarship that includes accommodation. The first group of students have
\nstarted their watchmaking journey.<\/p>\n

\nWatchmakers of Switzerland Training and Educational Program (WOSTEP).<\/p>\n

\nsyllabus, which encompasses lessons on the history and culture of watchmaking,
\nas well as benchwork, including machining, micro-mechanics, and production of
\ncomponents like the winding stem and balance staff etc. The center also focuses
\non traditional artisanal skills like decoration and turning.<\/p>\n

\nCambodia’s first independent watch school.\u00a0All the center’s modern
\nmachinery and equipment have been imported from Switzerland, Germany and other
\ncountries,” said Chairman Neak Oknha Chen Zhi of Prince Group. “We have also
\nput together a world-class team to teach Cambodian and international students
\nnew skills that will make them competitive in job markets in Cambodia and
\nabroad.”<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
\nESG responsibilities in other fields. It made several large-scale donations to
\nhelp in the fight against the pandemic and assisted flood victims in Cambodia. Till
\ndate, Prince Charitable Foundation Organization has organized more than 240
\ncharitable events and donated funds and other materials worth more than US$11
\nmillion, benefitting more than 320,000 people. In early December, Chen Zhi and
\nPrince Group donated US$3,000,000 to Prime Minister Hun Sen to help Cambodia
\npurchase 1 million COVID-19 vaccines as well.<\/p>\n

\napplications for the next school year that will begin on June 2, 2021. The
\ncenter accepts eight students — at least five of whom will be Cambodians — each
