BOUDH ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE IN DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cuttack,29\/12\/2020 ( Odisha Samachar \/ Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- On the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Santosh Kumar Rout, Secretary, Service Co-operative Society, Uma, Kantamal Block, Dist. Boudh, his (1) residential double-storied building at Uma, Kantamal, Boudh, (2) single-storied building at Uma, Kantamal, Boudh, and (3) office room at Service Co-operative Society, Uma, Kantamal Block, Dist. Boudh were simultaneously searched on 28.12.2020 by the officers of Vigilance, Berhampur Division on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon\u2019ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In course of search and inventory, Sri Santosh Kumar Rout, Secretary, Service Co-operative Society, Uma was found in possession of assets worth <strong>Rs.1,09,47,433<\/strong><strong>\/- (Rupees One Crore Nine Lakhs Forty-seven Thousand Four Hundred Thirty-three)<\/strong> including one double-storied building, one single-storied building, four numbers of plots, two numbers of four wheelers, two numbers of tractors, six numbers of two wheelers, one paddy thrasher machine, deposits in different banks, gold ornaments, <strong>cash of over 7.18 Lakhs<\/strong> and household articles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri\u00a0Rout\u00a0was calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of\u00a0<strong>Rs.1,02,17,152\/- (Rupees One Crore Two Lakhs Seventeen Thousand One Hundred Fifty-two).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As\u00a0Sri Santosh Kumar Rout, Secretary, Service Co-operative Society, Uma, Kantamal Block, Dist. Boudh was\u00a0found in possession of disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No.28 dt.29.12.2020 was registered against Sri\u00a0Rout\u00a0U\/s 13(2) r\/w 13(1)(b) Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 for detailed investigation.\u00a0In course of investigation, today i.e. on 29.12.2020, Sri\u00a0Rout\u00a0has been arrested and forwarded to the Court\u00a0of Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani.\u00a0The Hon\u2019ble Court has remanded him\u00a0to jail custody till 11.1.2021.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Investigation of the case is in progress.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cuttack,29\/12\/2020 ( Odisha Samachar \/ Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- On the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Santosh Kumar Rout, Secretary, Service Co-operative Society, Uma, Kantamal Block, Dist.
