KALAHANDI ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE IN DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cuttavk,29\/12\/2020 ( Odisha Samachar \/ Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- On the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Baleswar Naik, Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO), Thuapadar Gram Panchayat, Bhawanipatna Block, Dist. Kalahandi, his (1) residential triple-storied building at Godown Pada, Bhawanipatna, Dist. Kalahandi, (2) house at native village Bhelagaon, PS-Jaipatna, Dist. Kalahandi, and (3) office room at Thuapadar GP, Bhawanipatna Block, Dist. Kalahandi were simultaneously searched on 28.12.2020 by the officers of Vigilance, Koraput Division on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon\u2019ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In course of search and inventory, Sri Baleswar Naik, PEO was found in possession of assets worth <strong>Rs.96,47,798<\/strong><strong>\/- (Rupees Ninety-six Lakhs Forty-seven Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety-eight)<\/strong> including one triple-storied building, three numbers of plots, three numbers of two wheelers, deposits in different banks, investment in various insurance policies,\u00a0 gold ornaments, <strong>cash of over 5.4 Lakhs<\/strong> and household articles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri\u00a0Naik\u00a0was calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of\u00a0<strong>Rs.79,78,208\/- (Rupees Seventy-nine Lakhs Seventy-eight Thousand Two Hundred Eight).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As\u00a0Sri Baleswar Naik, Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO), Thuapadar Gram Panchayat, Bhawanipatna Block, Dist. Kalahandi was\u00a0found in possession of disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily, Koraput Vigilance P.S. Case No.29 dt.29.12.2020 was registered against Sri\u00a0Naik\u00a0U\/s 13(2) r\/w 13(1)(b) Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 for detailed investigation.\u00a0In course of investigation, today i.e. on 29.12.2020, Sri\u00a0Naik\u00a0has been arrested and forwarded to the Court\u00a0of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna.\u00a0The Hon\u2019ble Court has remanded him\u00a0to jail custody till 11.1.2021.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Investigation of the case is in progress.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cuttavk,29\/12\/2020 ( Odisha Samachar \/ Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- On the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Baleswar Naik, Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO), Thuapadar Gram Panchayat, Bhawanipatna Block, Dist.
