\nreleased survey results confirming that the pandemic has accelerated digital
\ntransformation for 88% of global organizations. However, this increase in cloud
\nadoption may leave business data insecure.<\/p>\n

\nacross several industry sectors, and from organizations of all sizes, with a
\nfocus on large enterprise.<\/p>\n
\npositive sign that a majority of organizations around the world are embracing

\nTrend Micro. “But the survey findings also highlight the challenges
\nremaining with understanding security in the cloud. Cloud adoption is not a
\n‘set it and forget it’ process, but takes ongoing management and strategic
\nconfiguration to make the best security decisions for your business.”<\/p>\n
\nsimple misconception that can lead to serious security consequences. While
\ncloud infrastructure is secure, customers are responsible for securing their
\nown data — which is the basis of the Shared Responsibility Model for cloud.<\/p>\n
\nrespondents say they are confident they understand their cloud security
\nresponsibility, but 97% also believe their cloud service provider (CSP) offers
\nsufficient data protection.<\/p>\n
\n55% of respondents use third-party tools to secure their cloud environments.
\nThis suggests that there may be significant coverage gaps and confirms that the
\nshared responsibility is not understood. Trend Micro Research has found
\nthat\u00a0misconfigurations
\nare the number one risk to cloud environments<\/b><\/a>, which can happen
\nwhen companies don’t know their part of the Shared Responsibility Model.<\/p>\n
\norganizations seem to be confident in their cybersecurity posture in the cloud,
\nas:<\/p>\n\n
\nacceleration in cloud migration has increased their focus on security best
\npractices<\/b><\/li>\n
\nthey are fully or mostly in control of securing their remote work environment<\/b><\/li>\n

\nwere cited as the top three day-to-day operational headaches of protecting

\nbarriers in migrating to cloud-based security tools<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\ncloud environments rated most important to responding organizations were
\nnetwork protection (28%), Cloud Security Posture Management (26%) and Cloud
\nAccess Security Broker (19%) tools.<\/p>\n
