World Bank Coastal Mission Team to visit NCRMP, ODRP on Jan 16 and 17

ELogo-Blue2Bhubaneswar, 16/1 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )-:  World Bank Coastal Mission Team will visit National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project (NCRMP) and Odisha Disaster Recovery Project (ODRP) sites in Ganjam district on January 16 and 17, 2016.

 The World Bank Coastal Mission Team comprising 18 members is making extensive visits in coastal districts of Odisha from January 13 to 17, 2016. Till now, they have visited project activities taken up under National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project (NCRMP) in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur & Kendrapada districts. On January 13, they visited Kirtania, Kumbhiragadi & Jaleswarpada in Bhogarai Block of Balasore district. They have participated in the inauguration and handing over ceremony of multipurpose cyclone shelters at Radhakantapur in Basudevpur Municipality and Gothaadia (Jaminikantapur) in Basudevpur Block of Bhadrak district on January 14. They have expressed their satisfaction in the progress of the project works under NCRMP & NCRMP (Additional Financing) as Odisha is one of the project implementing States to complete the activities well before the scheduled completion time of the project.

The team was given a detailed presentation on the implementation of the NCRMP & NCRMP (AF) in OSDMA. The team also met Odisha Chief Minister and shared their field experience in presence of Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Principal Secretary of Water Resources, Project Director & Additiona;l Project Director of NCRMP, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and other senior Government officials.

On the occasion, Chief Minister launched Hazard Vulnerability portal for Odisha developed under NCRMP project with assistance of NDMA and National Institute of Disaster Management. The portal will provide online information on hazard vulnerability to the people as well as other stakeholders of disaster management. The Chief Minister also launched the online Management Information System developed under Odisha Disaster Recovery Project (ODRP) which will help in effective monitoring of the project. : Developping Odia News websites
