Veteran Jatra writer Ananta Ojha passes away

Bhubaneswar, 01/01/2018 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhishek Mohanty )- : Veteran Jatra writer and director Ananta Ojha passed away at HCG hospital in Bengaluru on Sunday. He was 59.

Ojha is survived by his wife, three sons, daughter and mother.

He was undergoing treatment for cancer at the hospital for about one and a half months. Odisha government had sanctioned an amount of Rs 1 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for Ojha’s treatment.

Ojha had scripted more than 200 plays and directed most of them. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda and many other personalities have expressed condolences over Ojha’s demise.
