Bhubaneswar (Odisha Samachar Bureau): It was the fourth-day evening of GKCM Award Festival organized by Srjan at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar showcasing the beautiful blend of elegance, purity, precision and aesthetics of Bharatnatyam presented by eminent danseuse Rama Vidyanathan followed by immaculate and soulful recital of sitar by Purbayan Chatterjee who accompanied by Anubrata Chatterjee in Tabla. Starting with an obeisance to almighty Rama presented Mayur Allaripu, a pure dance based on Misrajati Tripata composed by Karikudi Sivkumar. In Abhinaya Pannage Sayanam Shree Padmanavam set to Rag-Astamala and Tal-Rupaka, the dancer as Radha felt the beauty and sensuous charm of Krishna followed by another Abhinaya set to Rag Kalyani and Tal-Adital which depicts Radha expressing emotions punctuated with different Rasas in the absence of Krishna in dream in the serene atmosphere of night. She concluded her programme longing for salvation while surrendering herself to Lord Siva. It was indeed a memorable performance which left an indelible mark in the minds of art lovers present in the auditorium. He was accompanied by Karaikudi Siva Kumar on Nattuvangam, K. Venkateswaran on Vocal, Arun Kumar on Mridangam and Viju Sivanand on Violin.
Renowned Sitar player Purbayan Chatterjee accompanied by Anubrata Chatterjee noted Tablist, presented different musical notes with melody in Rag-Anandikalyan set to Tal-Rupak, Drut-Tintal, Madhyallaya-Ektal, Gat-Allap, Jood, Jhala and Gat, etc. His composition and improvisation of the essence and spirit of Rag with syllables and song-phrases were orchestrated flawlessly which engrossed the music lovers who enjoyed the programme till the end.
