State capital celebrates 69th foundation day

State capital celebrates 69th foundation day

Bhubaneswar, 13/04/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty ) : The State capital celebrated its 69th foundation day on Thursday.

A parade was held in front of Odisha Legislative Assembly with participation of students from different schools and colleges. Assembly Speaker Niranjan Pujari took the salute of the parade.

A total of 13 persons were awarded with Rajdhani Gaurav Samman. Besides, 12 persons received Rajdhani Shree Samman.

Various cultural programmes were also organised by Culture Department to mark the occasion.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Tourism & Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, Transport Minister Ramesh Majhi, Forest Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh, School & Mass Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, MP Dr Prasanna Patsani, MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, Capital Celebration Day Committee President Pradosh Patnaik, Vice-President Pradyumna Mohanty and General Secretary Sannat Mishra were present on the occasion.

First Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had laid the foundation stone of the city on April 13, 1948.
