Bhubaneswar, 11/05/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty ) : The state cabinet meeting on Thursday approved a total of eleven important proposals the GST Bill.
As per the decision at the meeting held at State Secretariat, GST will be made applicable on all commodities, excluding petroleum products like natural gas, petrol, diesel, crude oil and aviation fuel. Besides, the State Government has decided to procure moong dal from farmers at a cost of Rs 52.25 per kg through MARKFED by incurring a loss of around Rs 2 crore on VAT waiver.
Apart from raising the power tariff for captive power plants from 30 paise per unit to 55 paise per unit to earn an additional revenue of Rs 875 crore, the government has revised the minimum qualification of the VAWs to Plus-II from Matric.
Similarly, the proposal for amendment in Odisha Agriculture Service Rule has also been approved by the cabinet.
