Separate road accidents claim 4 lives; 6 hurt

Bhubaneswar, 13/05/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )- : At least five persons were killed and six injured in separate road accidents in the State today.

Two people were killed and three others sustained serious injuries when an auto-rickshaw which they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck on national highway- 55 near Shakti Sugar Mills in Dhenkanal. The deceased have been identified as Bhimsen Mandal and Ranjan Pradhan. The injured persons were rushed to the district headquarters hospital for treatment.

In yet another incident, an elderly man died after being hit by a car near Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. The incident occurred when the deceased identified as Gandharba Swain of Nimapara area in Puri district was going to meet his ailing grandson at the hospital.

In Paradip, a man was killed after a truck ran over him at the port area. Another person was injured in the accident. He was rushed to SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack.
