Cuttack,9/3 ( Odisha Samachar / Dipti Ranjan Kanungo)- on 8.3.2016 Sri Dillip Kumar Das, Senior Clerk, District Headquarters Hospital, Bhadrak, Dist-Bhadrak has been arrested by Vigilance Officers of Balasore Division for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.3,000/- from the complainant Sri Gagan Behari Mohanty, Vill-Sankhida, PO/PS- Tihidi, Dist-Bhadrak for issue of Physically Handicapped Certificate in favour of his cousin brother . In this connection Balasore Vigilance P.S case No.15 dt.7.3.16 u/s 7 P.C.Act has been registered.
The complainant Sri Gagan Behari Mohanty alleged that his cousin brother Sri Biren Kumar Jena, At- Paikasahi (Tala Gopabindha) P.S- Tihidi, Dist-Bhadrak had applied Physical Handicapped Certificate at Dist. Headquarters Hospital. The Complt. Sri Gagan Behari Mohanty requested accused Sri Dillip Kumar Das, Senior Clerk, District Headquarters Hospital, Bhadrak for providing Physically Handicapped Certificate in favour of cousin brother Sri Biren Kumar Jena. Accused Sri Das, Senior Clerk demanded Rs.5,000/- for this purpose. Complt. Sri Mohanty gave accused Sri Das Rs.1,500/- on 4.9.2015 for Physically Handicapped Certificate. Accused Sri Das, Senior Clerk demanded Rs.3,500/- more for this certificate. When the complt. expressed his inability to pay such amount accused Sri Das reduced the amount to Rs.3,000/-. Finding no other alternative the complainant reported to Vigilance.
As per direction of S.P, Vigilance, Balasore , a trap was laid on 8.3.2016. Accused Sri Dillip Kumar Das, Senior Clerk, District Headquarters Hospital, Bhadrak was caught red handed by Vigilance Officers of Balasore Division while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.3,000/- from the complt. Sri Mohanty. The bribe money of Rs.3,000/- was recovered from the possession of Sri Das and has been seized in presence of witnesses. Both the hand & pant pocket wash of Sri Dillip Kumar Das, Senior Clerk gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of the bribe.
