Bhubaneswar, 15/11/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty ) : International child right organisation Save the Children organised an one-day consultation on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) at hotel presidency here on Wednesday.
The objective of the consultation was to provide platform to civil society organisations and government stakeholders to come together, brainstorm on the issues and challenges in ECCE and find the ways to overcome and To share best practices, innovative approaches and experience to ECCE and learn from each other.Some of the eminent speakers include Prof. U. N. Dash, Former Professor of Psychology, Utkal University and University of Delhi and generator of state ECCE curriculum (Nua-Arunima) Prof. Ajit Mohanty, Former Professor, Center of Educational Studies, JNU, New Delhi, Dr. Seva Mohapatra, former Director Health & Family Welfare, Odisha, Ram Hapawat AM – Education from Save the Children.
There were 78 participants in the consultation representing government departments and different civil society organisations. Key government stakeholders like Chairperson of OSCPCR, Sate level ECCE experts, and Representative from Civil society organisations such as UNICEF, CARE, OXFAM, CYSD, PREM, CRY, WORLD VISION & Sikshya Sandhan took part in the consultation.
Some of the major consultation of the consultation include strengthening pre-school education system through AWCs / pre-schools.
