Bhubaneswar, 13/06/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )- : Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda on Tuesday inaugurated the four-day Rajo Mahotsav at Bhubaneswar Panthanovas in presence of MP Prasanna Patsani, MLA Priyadarshi Mishra and Tourism Secretary Arti Ahuja.
During the festival, traditional cakes including poda pitha (Rs 300 for 1 kg/Rs 35 for 100 gram), manda pitha (Rs 15 per piece), arisha (Rs 15 per piece), kakara pitha (Rs 15 per piece) dahi vada (Rs 15 per piece), chhena poda (Rs 40 for 100 gram), chakuli pitha & ghuguni (Rs 50), muga bundi (Rs 250 for 1 kg), khira gaja (Rs 15 per piece) and Rajo pan (Rs 10 per piece) will be served at Panthanivases in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Chandipur, Sambalpur, Rourkela, Barkul, Gopalpur, Paradeep and Yatrinivas in Konark.
Besides, the Rajo Doli will be the major attraction at all these Panthanivases. Organised by the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) the festival aims to promote the traditional culture, tradition and cuisine of the State. Besides, Rajo Doli (swing) is the major attraction of the festivity.
For the first time, a food festival has also been organised at
exhibition ground, Unit-III, where around 20 leading hoteliers and reputed self help groups will serve different traditional food items to the visitors, Rajo pan and pitha, said OTDC marketing manager Alok Mishra.
