Bhubaneswar, 12/04/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )- : The petrol pump owners across the country have threatened to observe weekly off on every Sunday fro May 10, if the Government fails to pay dealer’s commission.
“The dealer commission on petrol is Rs 2.56 per litre and Rs 1.65 for diesel. The current margins are not sufficient to meet the operating costs”, an official said.
On the other hand, the oil companies have decided to change the prices of petrol and diesel daily in sync with international rates from May
Ahead of the nation-wide roll out of the scheme, the oil companies have decided to implement a daily revision of petrol and diesel prices in five cities- Puducherry, Vizag, Udaipur, Chandigarh and Jamshedpur. The scheme will be gradually extended to other parts of the country.
Earlier this month, petrol prices were slashed by Rs 3.77 per litre and diesel by Rs 2.91 per litre following fluctuations in crude prices.
