Bhubaneswar, 21/12/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )- : People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC) in collaboration with Adoption Centrum organized an workshop on maternal, neonatal and child health and child protection at Bhubaneswar Block Conference Hall on
Secretary, PECUC Ranjan Kumar Mohanty chaired the workshop and said, “Maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) is the largest component of covering maternal and newborn health, child health, immunization, nutrition, and health promotion.”

Samanuaya Tripathy, ABDO, Bhubaneswar Anada Chakra, senior journalist Pradosh Kumar Pattnaik and Director of PECUC Dr Manakhi Panda spoke on child protection, child marriage, malnutrition and child health, motherhood and new born child, women livelihood, safe and clean drinking water, sanitation and different Govt. schemes and programmes.
According to Executive Director, PECUC Anuradha Mohanty, maternal and newborn health must be emphasized, while addressing major gaps in child survival, because women and infants are at greatest risk of death in the first few hours and days around birth.
More than 100 women SHG members, ASHA and Anganwadi workers from different regions of Bhubaneswar attended the workshop.
At the end, Program Manager, PECUC Jyotirmayee Mahapatra gave vote of thanks and Panu Behera, Bijaya Senapati, Nilakantha Reddy, Urmila Parida and Chinmayee Pattanayak supported in the programme.
