Bhubaneswar, 27/9 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty ) : In line with the Company’s policy to serve the local community and to make the local women self-reliant and self-employed, the Aditya Birla group’s Sambalpur based Hindalco Company has organized a training programme at the Talabira-1 mines area to impart tailoring training to the local women. The recent batch of training programme has commenced from September 21, 2014 in which already 17 women are getting training on tailoring. Since last two years the Company has been imparting tailoring training to the local women of its peripheral villages with the objective of making them self-reliant and self-sufficient.
Miss Sushila Munda of Budhiapali village of Sambalpur who is getting training says “This tailoring training will enable me to earn some money for my family and I can also pursue my studies simultaneously too”.
“My long cherished dream of learning tailoring got the light of the day only due to Hindalco’s efforts and now I can become self sufficient and independent”, adds Minakshi Munda of Mundapara village.
Speaking on this, Mr. Sivananda Mohanty, the DGM of Hindalco says this sort of training will certainly make the women folk of the region self-dependent and this will of a great help to their family too. We will accelerate this type of activities in the days ahead, Mohanty added.
