Bhubaneswar,18/12( Odisha Samachar) – To day i.e. 18.12.2014 Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar convicted Sri Akhila Kumar Moharana, Sectional Supervisor, Odisha Forest Development Corporation, Bhubaneswar u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) P.C. Act, 1988 for possession of disproportionate assets worth of Rs.9,42,023/- to his known sources of income which he could not account for. The Hon’ble Court sentenced him to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for 2 years and to pay a fine of Rs.2,00,000/- and in default undergo Rigorous Imprisonment for further period of 1 year and 6 months.
It relates to Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S case No.9 dt.30.3.2001 u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) P.C.Act 1988. On the allegation of accumulation of disproportionate assets to his known sources of income his i) residential house at M/140, Housing Board Colony, Baramunda, Bhubaneswar, ii) father-in-law’s house at M/127, Housing Board Colony, Baramunda, Bhubaneswar iii) paternal house and sister’s house at Kantilo were searched simultaneously on 17.3.2001. After investigation the case was charge sheeted against Sri Akhila Kumar Moharana u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) P.C. Act, 1988 and was under trial in the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar. Sri Dillip Kumar Chhotaray was the Special P.P, Vigilance conducting the trial.
