Bhubaneswar , 6/9 ( Odisha Samachar/Abhisek Mohanty ) : National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme) is a pioneering institute in the field of MSMEs, playing a major role in providing a pro-business environment to foster the progress of SMEs towards success and prosperity. The raison deter of this institute is to assist the Government in formulating policies for small industries and to help practicing and potential entrepreneurs through a host of services like research, consultancy, information, training, education and extension. ni-msme is a training ground for senior technocrats, bureaucrats and bankers who come here to gain expertise and knowledge in order to equip themselves with latest technology and streamline their operations.
ni-msme has organized one day “Outreach program in Food Processing” and it was hosted by Centre for Agri Management, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar for the benefit of farming community & prospective entrepreneurs. The program was sponsored by National Institute for Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Haryana, MoFPI, Govt. of India. The objective of the program was to create awareness and provide knowledge on Optimum utilization of Natural resources, Up-dated technologies available in Pre and Post harvesting, Value addition, reduction in wastages, processing, storage and quality control of agricultural produce, Optimum utilization of by-products. Business opportunities in food sector, Schemes available to assist setting up of food processing industry, Scheme of NMFP of MoFPI. Around 300 no’s of farmers and 100 no of students has participated.
