Bhubaneswar , 13/6 ( Odisha Samachar/Abhisek Mohanty) : “The arrangement of Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) to celebrate Raja is an appreciable initiative which revives the spirit of the traditional festival” said Tourism & Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda while inaugurating the Raja Festival at Panthanivas, Bhubaneswar on Friday here in presence of MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, Commissioner-cum-Secretary School & Mass Education Department Usha Padhee, Culture Director Sushil Kumar Das and OTDC Marketing Manager Alok Mishra.
“Apart from the traditional Odia cakes (pitha) including Poda, Manda, Arisha, Kakara and Purachakuli, Mooga Bundi, which is added to our menu for the first time, will be served to the customers during the fiesta. Raja Doli will be the major attraction for the denizens like previous years. Keeping in view the better responses during previous years, we have made adequate arrangements of cake packing for tourists and visitors”, said Tourism Director Manoranjan Patnaik.
In a bid to celebrate the famous Odia festival with fervour and zeal special arrangements have also been made in the Panthanivases of Sambalpur, Chandipur, Barkul, Rourkela, Paradip, Dhenkanal, Puri, Gopalpur, Cuttack and Konark from June 13 to 16, 2014.
