Bhubaneswar, 24/10/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Swarnaprava Nayak ) : Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) has decided to stage a dharana outside Raj Bhawan here on November 2 to protest against the police inaction over the Kunduli gang rape case.
Addressing a press conference here at Congress Bhawan, OPCC president Prasad Harichandan alleged that the police had been pressurising the gang rape survivor to change her statement. The party demands stringent action against the accused in the gang rape case.
Earlier, the party had observed bandh in Koraput district and held a protest march from the Musaguda village, the native village of gang rape survivor, to the DIG office in the district headquarter in a bid to put pressure the State government to arrest all the accused involved in the Kunduli gang rape case at the earliest.
A class IX class student of Sorisapadar village under Potangi police limits in Koraput district was allegedly gang raped by four security personnel while she was returning from the Kunduli Haat on October 10.
