Bhubaneswar, 13/04/2017 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhisek Mohanty )-: The State Government has re-classified the state highways as urban roads. The move came following Sureme Court order regarding removal of liquor shops located within 500 metres from the state highways.
The roads falling within the limits of municipalities, municipal corporations, sub-divisional headquarters, block headquarters and tehsil headquarters have been renamed as urban roads. But the state does not have the power to de-notify the national highways, a
government notification said.
