Attending the seminar as chief guest, Editor of Sambad Soumya Ranjan Patnaik said “Combined efforts of the artisans are needed to put pressure on the Government to consider their issues”. He advised the artisans to strengthen the federation.
Managing Director, Utkalika Gayatri Patnaik stressed the need for sensitising the bankers on handicrafts schemes to provide loans to the artisans. She said “Utkalika is planning to organise more craft exhibitions in order to give boost to artisans and handicrafts sector”.
State Handicrafts Development Federation President Debi Prasanna Nanda highlighted that absence of raw materials is pushing the artisans to shift to other States for earning their livelihood. He said “The federation will submit a memorandum to the Government seeking fulfillment of the problems of artisans”.
Among others, Development Commissioner (Handicraft) Assistant Director Ashok Kumar Panigrahi and Odisha Shilpi Mahasangha Working President Uday Mohanty were present on the occasion.
